If work is digital why do we still go to the office?
"Distance will die", was the prediction following the spread on the internet in the 1990's. The possibility of instantaneous communication with everyone almost everywhere -even on Mount Everest- would render traditional offices obsolete. But its seems that even if we can work from anywhere -yes, there is a connection on Mount Everest at 5200 meters!- it does not mean we want to. We look for places that allow us to share knowledge and to generate ideas. Coworking spaces perfectly meet this need. But there is more. According to MIT Senseable City Lab coworking spaces could also play a role in the design of futures workspaces.
